History:
Naomi was born on an Outer Rim world known as Concorde Dawn, a Mandalorian world with a very diverse environment. She lived there with her parents in the forest, her father was a trader and part-time smuggler (although she didn’t know that) and her mother looked after her at home. She was a curious child, easily excitable, and loved the forests in which she lived. Ever since she could walk on her own, her father (when he was home) would take her out into the forest, showing her the wildlife. Before she was eight years old she already knew how to set up snares to catch small animals.
As Naomi got older, her father’s business grew bigger, causing him to be away for longer amounts of time. To solve this issue, he bought a large ship, in which he could move to job locations and still be with his family. On his latest job, he had to pick up a package which was located in a large (relatively safe) farm on Felucia. After much whining and complaining, Naomi was allowed to come with her father down to the surface, and her mother to keep an eye on her. They took a shuttle down, with four armed guards just in case.
When on the planet, Naomi snuck off to look at the forest while her father greeted the Nysillin Farmers. She didn’t wonder far, as her father had warned her of scary monsters and dangerous plants, and the forest around her literally glowed with life. She lost track of time and it must have been an hour or two later when she finally wondered back. What she returned to however, was not her parents angry and worried about her, but instead several corpses. Her parents, the guards and even the Nysillin farmers were among them, but they all bore similar wounds. They had all in some way been bisected, the area where they had been cut black and burnt.
She doesn’t know how long she had sat there and cried. Hours? Days? She scavenged what she could from the farmhouse, including some strange food and a hunting knife, then walked off into the forest. She wasn’t seen again for some time.
Roughly two years later, Naomi, now much more savage in appearance, was dragging the corpse of a Nexu cub back from one of her snares, when she heard the familiar cry of an Ackley. Her first instinct was to drop the Nexu and run, but stopped short. Roughly fifty meters from her position, a mysterious hooded warrior with a glowing red sword was fighting it. The figure slowly and methodically cut off its limbs, then impaled their ‘lightsword’ deep into its head for the
coup de grace. Intrigued, she followed the person, who soon led to a hut at the base of a large tree. She watched the hut for some time, until she had heard a sound from behind her. Drawing her knife, she quickly turned, only to find the mysterious hooded standing behind her, his red ‘lightsword’ in hand. The man (she realized by the tone of his voice) questioned her, on who she was, who she worked for and what she was doing there. Naomi responded with a series of hisses, growls and finally responding that she lived here. The man took off his hood, revealing the stubbly face of a man in probably his forties. He asked if she was from one of the imperial settlements, and she told him how she lived in the forests. The man simply smiled and invited her into his home for food. While she was skeptical, Naomi slowly found herself warming to the strange man.
The man, named Gav Madama, spoke with Naomi, and slowly gained her trust. They began to go hunting together, and in their spare time discussed their pasts. Naomi told the man of her parent’s fate, and he told her that the culprit must have been a group known as the ‘Jedi’. He continued to explain to Naomi the Sith and the nature of The Force. He took her on as his apprentice, saying that one day she would have the power to kill the Jedi and avenge her parents. As the days turned to weeks, and the weeks to months and years, she learned the art of swordplay and how to wield the force. While she struggled with the force, she more than made up for it in combat, and spared with her mentor regularly. While he was usually cold and harsh on her, Naomi believed she could still feel the warmth and kindness of the mysterious man she had met, hiding just beneath the skin.
After her fifteenth birthday, Naomi tested herself, fighting an Ackley with an incredibly sharp broadsword, and applying her training, managed to kill it. On the day she once again saw her mentor’s smile, as he congratulated her on the feat. In celebration, he unfolded a cloth on the table in his hut, revealing a row of strange metal parts, and a crystal. He then taught her how to build her lightsaber.
When she was sixteen, they travelled to a foreign planet, a lush green planet of large plains and small yet luxurious settlements. Naomi however, was not there for site-seeing. She was there to complete her new job. She was an assassin. As she cut the target and his family down, she felt no pity. This it seemed, was the way the world worked.
As the years passed by, she managed to find a man, a man who had tried to employ her. He was a Jedi, and he wanted her to assassinate a local imperial governor, saying that they were corrupt. Naomi was filled with hatred and loathing, and attacked the Jedi. For all the skill and power the Jedi had, he could not match her fury and swordsmanship. As he managed to cut off her right arm, she in turn cut off his head. In agonizing pain, she took the man’s lightsaber, purple in colour, and stumbled back to her shuttle. When she awoke, she was back in her mentor’s hut, a mechanical arm in place of her missing one. More time passed, and she learnt how to wield two blades at once, and even attached a locking mechanism so she could connect them. Her mentor congratulated her on her actions, saying killing the Jedi meant one less scumbag for the universe to deal with.
Many years later, as she returned from a mission, Naomi could feel tension. Her mentor was preparing something. A final test maybe? She didn’t know, and didn’t know whether or not to be worried or excited. When she finally returned to her mentors hut, she was met with eerie silence. The blackened marks of lightsabers were on the ground and walls, and she rushed inside, fearing the worst. Inside the hut, the lifeless body of her mentor, and two dead Jedi. Another loved one taken by the Jedi.
After grieving her mentor’s death, she searched the bodies of the two Jedi, and on one of them found a holodisk. On it were orders, not to kill Gav, but to kill her.
Naomi fled Felucia, and has since kept moving, only ever stopping to do her job. In public, she hides her face with a mask. She has slowly learnt more about the force, and can now levitate small objects such as her lightsaber, as well as use the force to improve her reflexes and strength. She has added two lightsabers to her collection, both blue, and continues to hunt the Jedi. She continues to search for the Jedi that had ordered her death, and so marks her targets so he knows she’s coming for him.
The Empire may be fading, but now the Jedi have something new to fear.
