This world... is cursed. A kind man once told me that I should smile more.. but how can I? It's hard to smile when you saw nature and nature spat at you. Grimm are not natural and I somehow wish to prove it. But I can't. I'm not that type of person. I'm a huntress. I hunt. It's all I ever do. It's all I ever want to do. It's what I was born to do. It's what I'll die doing.... I'm in no rush for the last part.
It was never easy walking around with a giant crossbow on your back while wearing patterned armour alongside a long heavy coat. After a long while of wearing said attire, Iola got used to it. Others, however, stare at Iola with a sense of disbelief as she walked at a normal speed- ran at a normal speed- jumped a normal height- despite the weight restrictions it would cause on others. Many people, on the Atlas transport, was staring at Iola from time to time, much to her annoyance. Hunting instinct made being watched a painful experience... you normally chase or fight whatever looks at you in nature. Even domesticated cats looked away when they knew you weren't a threat. The Atlas public transport to Vale was almost everything you'd expect from Atlas. There was even a wine bar somewhere on the ship. Large glass panes allowed people to view Vale as they flew over. It's what occupied many people... it even caught Iola's curiosity as she walked over to the window and put her gloved hands on the metal bar, glaring out across the city of Vale. It ... wasn't what Iola expected. She expected less from what she overheard on the transport.
Sighing and shaking her head, concluding she shouldn't listen to others and believe them, Iola moved away from the window and found a quiet wall to sit against. She knelt down and put her crossbow-covered back against the wall, breathing in uneasily, watching others getting excited about going to Beacon. Even Iola had to admit- she wanted to be excited... but without any friends to be cheerful with, what was the point? She's came here to learn how to do a job- and here she was. There wasn't really anything to it, really. All she felt was a sudden sadness about being away from Atlas, her homeland. "nmph.." she groaned as she stretched her legs out, bending one knee up to her chest, the other laying out lazily, waiting to arrive at Beacon.

(Sorry for the late reply ;~; I didn't know you posted! I normally am on top with these things on Recent Posts! How did I miss this?!)
Mandalorians. Mando'ade. Probably the most intriguing thing that Swindon asked herself is how long she will be with this group. Surely she wouldn't be a Mandalorian herself, given how little of combat she knows... a common criminal, maybe. The idea of becoming some galaxy-free criminal excited the redhead with the utmost pride of actually doing something with her life. She was already wanted for murder, why not go further?
Her teal gaze turned to Homocide as he spoke, her pale features going slightly tense. "Ex-Explode? It shouldn't do... I don't think!" She looked down at the crate where Cuddles circled it before flicking his tail in the most peculiar fashion, sniffing the crate gently before quickly stepping away. Breathing in, Swindon knelt down and picked up the crate, feeling the heat suddenly warm her hands at an alarming rate. She placed the crate on a durasteel table, blinking a few times, letting go as soon as she could. Warily, she opened the top and gazed down at the frantically pulsing cube, the glow of the cube bright, almost blindingly so. Putting a hand to her chin, Swindon hesitated. "..Think I might have to turn it off" she said in a thoughtful tone... such a statement could be seen as extremely simple. "Do you mind if I do that?" She turned to Homocide, looking briefly at Blink too as she asked. "We just have to use all the energy inside of it. It's easy- I just add something that requires a lot of energy and connect it through wires-- you do have wires, right?-- and, uh- it uses the energy slowly instead of bui-building the energy up!... Like overcharging a holocorder! Maybe... connect it to.. uhm..."
On her shoulder, her clothes consisted of a dress. It was a somewhat simple dress, what you'd expect of a common Coruscant citizen- a dark dull blue dress with teal lining. It certainly would match her eyes and bring out the redness of her hair in a fashionable sense, but in the company of armoured warriors, she'd look extremely odd and out of place. It looked like a pretty bad joke looking for a punchline- a woman and her cat alongside a squad of Mandalorians.
"...A holodancer?" Swindon said after a long, thoughtful pause on what they could add an infinite source of energy to. Out of all the things that could consume energy, a holodancer was the first thing on the redhead's mind.

How about AKDA, for Arcadia. It gives an option for either Lefko or Midas to be the leader, and it's got Greek origins, so it matches the theme for our team. The word itself describes a place that offers peace and simplicity, and that makes me think of gentle sunlight, which is close to yellow or white, which can also match Midas or Lefko, at least in being close to the color of their names. OOoo, I really REALLY like that. I'm liking this Greek theme. I've always loved diverse cultures. In my spare time, I love to simply draw a map of a fantasy world and then fill in the landmass with creatures, myths, cultures and diverse lores. In this case, it makes sense that Iola will be the "Blake" of the group, given the Spartan counterpart. Honestly, I'm up for anything you guys and gals whip up. I'm liking this more and more as it progresses in ideas :D Thanks Butters and Immortal for all the effort poured into this! ^_^ Also, Immortal, please don't forget Opportunity since you are, like, the Dungeon Master of that too <3

As listed in my character's description, she was home-schooled all of her life, so she wouldn't know Wake's char at all. Sorry Wake ~ <3 Wasn't aware you wanted / I wanted our characters to meet before Beacon anyway >_> <_< ..Since Iola hunts all the time, I don't think she would be the most approachable of people. That will change when she reaches Beacon, due to the rules of the Academy. But even so, that would mean people would only begin meeting Iola once she reaches Beacon Academy.

I wouldn't about that Wake. Our storyline is more or less laid out for us up to the end of volume 3, and perhaps even afterwards since I doubt we'll get that far before volume 4 begins. When we're talking about these skips, we're only referring to things like sleep time, or those of longer periods of time. We probably won't roleplay through the entirety of every class the characters have until the vytal festival - that would just wind up boring everyone. *Phew* Thanks for letting me know ^_^ I like the idea of a Greek counterpart, despite me not knowing a damned thing about Greek Gods and much cultures outside ancient Sparta. Luckily, as you said before, like Jaune had no similarities past the name, we can get away with that =) Eee can't wait to RP ^_^ Genderbent criminals? Imagine a genderbent Bloody Mary...

All this talk of time skips and storyline is making me worried ;~; I hope we can still Roleplay fully ^_^ We never know how our own characters may develop until we Roleplay, of course! If you need more characters, I would more then happily Roleplay a second character. I'm quite fond of RWBY on a whole and it's story, I'm quite well versed in it's lore and understanding of how most things work!
When I used to Roleplay on a RWBY Roleplay forum, there was a bunch of criminal characters who had events quite often. It was interesting to see what they were doing- since they had an entire plot against Beacon, Vale, the White Fang and even the Atlas military. Very interesting stuff! Of course, I expect it's quite easy being evil in an overpowered universe. E.G. Torchwick's train at the end of volume 2.

Great character wake, I look forward to seeing her out on the battlefield! However there are just a few concerns we were hoping you could look at for us, firstly is her name: she doesn't seem to have a surname, and so far all huntress/ huntsmen characters do in the cannon. Secondly; you mentioned you have a scar, In distinguishing features yet you don't seem to mention how she got that scar, if you could explain it in your history that would be fantastic. Thirdly, in your history you talk about going to atlas prior to beacon, I assume you didn't mean atlas the academy? Rather maybe you meant a school (like signal academy that Ruby went to) that was in atlas? Because if she's already been to atlas academy that would make her older than the other characters, or that she got pushed up a grade, which we'd like to avoid as well. And lastly your weapon doesn't seem to have a name, and all characters in the cannon's weapons do have names. 1) Trying to find a Greek surname was difficult. I'll simply use "Kali" as her surname, if that's acceptable? =) 2) Something that Iola herself wouldn't dare mention, despite the scar obviously being there. Alright- I added it was simply her falling too slow during a hunt and getting hit by a Beowolf. While RWBY enjoys trivia and hidden backstories nearly all the time, I'm trying to be somewhat... blank with Iola. She has a personality, she enjoys things, she hates things-- but I want her to develop mostly through the Roleplay =D3) Oh bollocks, my mistake. Fixed!4) Because Iola has no care for such things! But, alas, if you asked then others in the world of Remnant most certainly would. Thus, she simply names it "Alessa" which is Greek for "Defender of Humanity" (apparently).
I was, at first, going to make a male faunus with the ability to teleport and a carefree attitude. But I thought that'd be a bit too ... powerful and mainstream, wouldn't it? So Iola is here! And I believe Iola is "violet" in some meaning or another. Google was my best friend.

Name: Iola Kali Age: 18 Gender: Female Species: Human Birthplace: Atlas Counterpart: Artemis, Greek Goddess Appearance:Height: 5'10" Weight: 154lbs Eye Color: Violet Build: More on the strong side, having a somewhat above average muscular upper-body. Not over the top, but noticeable. Hair Style: Long at the back, short at the front, wavy and straight. Hair Color: Black Skin Color: Tanned Distinguishing Features: A very noticeably large claw mark covering the left side of her face Attire: Patterned armour under-layer, an old long thick leather jacket covering most of her body above. Weapons and Abilities: Weapon: Iola's weapon, in normal form, is a heavy and mechanical looking Crossbow. It looks clunky and extremely heavy (think of bianca from Dragon Age). It has the ability to fire different bolts varying in dust elements, for example, an electric bolt that stuns a target or a fire bolt that explodes upon impact. Her crossbow can also mechanically change into a one-bladed, two-handed axe for short-range combat, but lacks any significant powers. It was built for her in Atlas and has had many modifications since it's creation. It is, however, expensive to maintain and is the reason Iola visits dust stores often. Upon being questioned what she'd name her weapon, she simply replies "Alessa", having given it almost no consideration, uncaring for names where purpose matters. Equipment: Iola keeps a pouch on her belt with different types of crossbow bolts in it. Also her scroll. Abilities: Being a woman who uses range over close-quarter combat, Iola is required to move a lot. She's able to do acrobatics on a skillful level, able to do backflips, rolls and lunges. She can also track Grimm and other animals. Other Skills: Drawing and painting. She also can play a flute. Aura: Violet. Semblance: Hunting Instinct - Iola is able to activate her semblance to hunt more effectively is she focuses, being able to track creatures and people from a much longer distance and more clearly, as if being able to see the footsteps and movements of those she is hunting more clearly. Personality: Quiet and blunt most of the time to those who she doesn't know, Iola is actually quite kind and caring to those she does know. This is often only seen by nature, as she has a deep care towards fauna and flora, often taking walks through nature itself when not training or painting. When she does paint, she paints nature itself or her friends. Despite this, her quiet nature is almost instantly replaced with a violent, brutal and unforgiving huntress when angered (the same focused persona one would have when hunting). History: Atlas was Iola's home. She was born in Atlas, she grew up in Atlas, she made her weapon in Atlas, she knew it's roads, it's streets, it's creatures and technology. Iola lived and breathed Atlas. Her parents were hunters- in general, they hunted Grimm. Following in their footsteps, she attended Atlas School in the hopes of becoming a Huntress. She took steps much too far, however, living and breathing the ways of hunting and interested in little else. Due to this, she became extremely competitive in fights, distancing herself from others and enjoying nature more then she did with anything else. She discovered her semblance this way, however, hunting animals. Iola became quite used to running from Grimm at a young age, due to hunting creatures quite often, and always swore to the Atlas Academy she'd learn to fight and hunt Grimm. Especially after being too slow at the age of 16... where a great Beowolf caught up with her, slashing her face, leaving a haunting claw mark forever... The danger of the Grimm never scared her (despite the scar) until her last years at Atlas School, however, where she was told both her parents had been killed while hunting. People believed she was distant before, but now she lived and breathed the hunt, not Atlas. The once patriotic and quiet woman Atlas knew grew so far that she even signed up to go to Beacon Academy for further education. Before she left Atlas, however, she took advantage of the technological superiority and had a weapon designed, built and modified countless times before she left...the very same weapon she uses until this day, named "Alessa." Regarded as a capable fighter, Iola is going to Beacon Academy- despite not many people knowing nearly anything about her. This is because there is little history to Iola, and a large lack of friends to learn about her. Perhaps this will change...

You guys got me all excited now. I love RWBY to bits, been a devoted follower since I saw the trailers during Red vs. Blue! I've got a perfect idea for a character and I can't WAIT to start Roleplay! :D I used to be part of a RWBY Roleplay site, but their combat rules were crap, sadly, so I left. So excited!!! *Fangirls*

The feeling was strange to the newcomer to the group. She had never really been woken up in such a way before- at least not in a very long time since the orphanage, but that was a lifetime ago. The voice addressing her and Rhithia woke her up almost instantly, much to Cuddles hatred as his owner sat up instantly, forcing the cat to evacuate from his rest spot on Swindon's belly. She blinked open her teal, bright eyes as Blink explained. "nnmmm" groaned Swindon was she stretched from where she was led, Cuddles purred and circled the bed, the small predator being one with it's family member. She looked over at Rhit with a weak smile, having seen her jump at her gun. "Sho- Should I expect to be woken up by people trying to kill me?" she asked softly, in a polite and somewhat well-rested voice... despite the small amount of sleep.
Swindon swung her legs around to stand up and instantly began to regret going to bed so quickly. She rubbed one side of her face and looked over at Rhit, looking a bit embarrassed. "Left my bag in the other room. I'll.. get it and get changed." It must have been an odd concept to them, Swindon reminded herself- the Mandoalorian's almost always wore armour. She, of course, didn't own any. Perhaps it was refreshing to them to have someone around who didn't know what they were doing- or perhaps, the other way around? If they liked her or not, the mechanic could only do her best to attempt and impress them to keep her around. "Come on Cuddles." The cat began to follow her as Swindon began walking into the corridor, allowing Rhithia to get up on her own accord. The ginger cat gave Rhit one last 'mew' before disappearing into the corridor.
Hearing the news headlines, most of it didn't make much sense to Swindon. Senators, for all she knew, were just governmental bodies. Cathar? Cat people? Racism? What did that have to do with anything? They seemed to speak about it a lot, but it wasn't a problem yesterday... Swindon kept it in mind. Emperor Pappy? The namedrop bothered her. Were they referring the little Mandalorian group to an emperor that took over the galaxy? Were they the evil ones? Swindon wasn't, by any means, stupid. She wasn't exactly a genius either. But she concluded in her head that what they were doing had nothing to do with being 'evil' or 'good'. The concepts were loose in her own mind. When has Swindon ever seen anything 'good?' Well, Cuddles. Cuddles was good. He obeyed her every movement, followed her and never made a mess. So what was 'evil'? Swindon concluded her parents- why would they leave her alone on Coruscant? Also her bosses from various jobs. They were evil. Didn't pay her enough and replaced her with droids. Droids! The thoughts made Swindon conclude she didn't really care who was right and wrong.... she had made her choice- she is staying with the Mandalorians.
Walking into the main room full of durasteel tables, the redhead quickly found her bag- exactly where she left it. Not wearing any footwear and her clothes unbuttoned for relaxation, she looked quite fitting for someone who just got out of bed. Digging into her bag, she withdrew a few clothes, put them over her shoulder and held a tin of cat food (not like she had enough of them). Smiling softly, she looked across the room, wandering what Homicide and Blink were up to.

I summon thee Fallout RP! Thought I'd start a nice and simple Fallout Roleplay and see if it ends up anywhere. If no one posts anything until the end of the month, I'll move the character on, and so forth (until, ultimately, the thread dies, as it does). Feel free to RP ^_^ Megaton, morning...There was a lot to be worried about in the Capital Wasteland, Corvus knew this. Some days were much harder then others. Today was one of those extremely difficult days- mostly due to the giant sun in the sky, unforgiving hotter then usual. Having traveled through early hours of the morning and watching the sun rise, Corvus felt cursed as he walked through the gates of Megaton, leather armour under his duster jacket which swept past his knees as he walked forward. To make matters much worse for the aging man, his bag gave metallic clinks and clangs with most of his movements. It wasn't unusual- he didn't get any attention as he entered the settlement... just another wanderer, independent and has lived long enough to know the best way to trek across most of the Capital Wasteland. He was the sort of person people didn't give attention to either out of respect or simply because they were trying to avoid trouble. Either way... Corvus wasn't complaining as he walked down the steps into the settlements crater. Sighing heavily, the survivalist sat down on a stool at the first bar in town- and for the life of him, he could never remember it's name. He placed his bag down next to him, looking up. He chuckled softly and muttered "thank God" as he realized he was finally in shade under metal. A smile greeted him- a bartender of some verity. "How much is a strong drink cost me here, eh?" he spoke. Age was something that crept up on Corvus, his voice sounded older then he actually was- the old croaked and experienced voice, demanding in tone, yet somewhat friendly at the same time. "Whiskeys fifteenth caps, Vodka's twenty-five.""Ah." It was a solemn 'ah'. "Things were much cheaper back thirty years ago...alright." There was a pause. "Whiskey."As the whiskey was served, the bottle clanked on the makeshift bar, the one-eyed man smiled warmly as he placed twenty-one bottle caps on the bar, all of them red with the Nuka-Cola logo sticking out happily. He nodded in thanks and the bartender left. And there is was again- a joy of relaxation. Sitting in the shade, bright sun, whiskey in hand....mouth.... gone. At least it tasted nice. This was a short break. If uninterrupted / nothing catches Corvus's attention, he will simply move on in Megaton and begin trading.

Name: Melody
Age: 20
Race: Human
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 135 lbs
Build: Athletic! Melody prides herself in being at least athletic in build.
Distinguishing Features: Her bright blonde hair and cheerful movements.
Weapons: Weapons? None, of course!
Clothing/Armour: A blue leather jacket, normal red dress and colour-matching (and somewhat fashionable) boots.
Profession: Musician.
Skills: Melody is highly skilled with two instruments- her guitar and the flute. This doesn't stop as restrictions, she is quite talented with other instruments (apart from the piano and anything with keys...those things are evil) as her only natural talent. She also has quite an open mind, aiding her in being extremely sociable and cooperative. Beyond that- her skill in fast movements allow her to run away from threats rather then deal with them head-on. She's also a good cook! ...But... that's a closely guarded secret...
Personality: Peaceful, thoughtful and extremely good at playing music, Melody is the sort of person who is more than happy to be your friend. Whilst maintaining a very cheerful attitude towards life and others, she is also aware that not every planet is the most welcoming. Because of this, when she isn't playing her music (which she will practice quite often), she is preforming different stretches and exercises to keep her body in shape to escape from threats. She is friendly towards others of (nearly) any race whom don't wish to kill or eat her. It is highly noted that Melody is, by no means, a genius. Her knowledge of how things work is limited.
History: Melody was born in space with two very caring parents within the confines of the U.S.C.M protected airspace. She grew up as a cheerful girl, laughing in the face of danger and almost always (note the 'almost') got away with it. Her parents, when Melody was very young, gifted her a guitar which she never parted with until this day. They mentioned her "talent was written in the stars." Most of her skills came from her childhood.Parting ways with her parents, she left them to become a professional musician. For the most part- she has been extremely successful, going from civilization to civilization , playing song and song again for different people of different races. While on her way to the next destination, something rather unfortunate happened...

(I'll make Swindon go to bed so you two can continue with the detective RP! Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on the forum. See when it's best to rejoin!)
Swindon smiled happily and stood up, the ginger cat hopped gracefully off her lap and stretched, preparing to follow. "Thank you" she said in a joyful tone before yawning- the yawn itself was soft. "My bed was second-hand anyway!" With that, the mechanic disappears down the hallway, taking note of her surroundings as she passed. Cuddles followed almost systematically, tail shaking as it disappeared behind her. "You know, Cuddles, I've never been this deep into Coruscant before."
When the teal blue eyes of hers poked into a room and spotted a cot, Swindon almost immediately entered the room and took her boots off, undoing a few buttons to relax easier and laying down on the cot. Cuddles, a little upset he doesn't have his little mat, hopped up onto Swindon's body and simply sat there on her belly. She couldn't help but giggle at the ginger cat getting comfortable on her, tiredly laying her head back and closing her eyes. Within that moment, the redhead was asleep, quiet as a feather... the cat, on the other hand, purred quietly as it curled up on it's owner to sleep.

SV? =/ I don't understand what that means... sorry, you are confusing me >.<
No, the site doesn't have many restrictions at all. As long as you respect the lore, plenty of things are allowed. I chose Octavia to be my main character in the Elder Scrolls universe. I'm not by any means staff, I'm just doing what I enjoy..
