Hello artemis, character is looking great! Just a few things though first before we jump in.
First of all, AJ and I had a long chat about the whole personal interview with Ozpin thing, and this is actually gonna be fine we just wanna explain why this interaction makes sense so; so we think this works for a number of reasons, we think it fits Ozpin, your character and Beacon academy specifically though, and if you tried the same at some other academy we'd probably try and pull it, but we know that Ozpin seems to be personally knowledgeable about the students he lets in, so knowing the past of your character absolutely makes sense, and him allowing your character in despite their flaws also makes sense, as pretty much all students entering beacon seem to have some forms of flaws that Ozpin overlooks for something special about them, so we think this fits into everything just nicely - Good job.
Next: as for your semblance, this is cool, but please if you already know what you want your semblance to be, please PM us (if you wanna make a grand In character reveal of it) or just list it in your sheet, even if your character doesn't know what it is, if you're not actually sure what its gonna be, then please PM us when you do figure out what you'd like to do, and we will always be here for suggestions as well if you'd like.
Next we're also green lighting the name you've given your combat school, and local village, we just want everyone to know that they can do this too, but that it needs to fit the universe like you've done, we think it fits perfectly how shelter academy goes to shade academy like, Signal academy goes to Beacon academy, so spot on job there.
Lastly We wanna clarify that while you didn't include an "Inert" mode in your weapon, it shouldn't be necessary because 1) you it's small, so its not terribly necessary in the first place, and 2) you've included a holster/sling for the weapon while it's out of use so the inert mode is kinda just redundant, also after a lengthy conversation about your weapon (XD) we've come to the conclusion that it is indeed well rounded, and suited for the RP.
Way to go, and on a side note, seeing as how both of our characters are from Vacuo, from small villages (and how I neglected to name the combat school Midas went to) It could be totally plausible that Midas knew your character before she left to signal, and they could potentially recognize each other at Beacon, if you'd like, this could work well, because it would give your character someone she knows who she could talk to, without letting all that shyness get in the way, and he could act as a good foil like Yang is to Ruby (in the outgoing-ness department at least).
Oh and Stel, and Wake seeing as how both your characters are from Atlas you could do the same, if you wanted.

Thanks Butter! I made sure to do my research before I wrote any of the profile, and I my doubts about doing what I did. In the end I decided it would be better to try and make things fit as close to the RWBY lore as I could. Since Ozpin is based on the Wizard of Oz, and from what we've seen of him in the show..... Well, he seems to be focused on giving his students what they need. Just like in the Wizard of Oz, with Dorothy, the Lion, the Scarecrow, and the Tin Man. Crimson needs a chance and some confidence, and I'm super glad you agree that it fits the lore.
For the semblance, I'll be sure to PM you two in a bit, but I am hoping to do a reveal in the thread!
It's awesome that you guys noticed the link between Shelter and Shade academy. I thought about a few different names - Shadow, Oasis, Canopy - but obviously I decided on Shelter, since a signal can create a beacon, and shelter can create shade. I've seen some RWBY fanficiton, and people tend to miss little details like that so I love that you keep things like that in mind! ^_^
That's an excellent idea, having them both have went to Shelter! I wasn't sure how I was going to introduce her to the other characters (at least until forced to in the forest!) but having her already know your character would be a great way to help her get out of her shell.

As listed in my character's description, she was home-schooled all of her life, so she wouldn't know Wake's char at all. Sorry Wake ~

Sorry Wake ~ <3 Wasn't aware you wanted / I wanted our characters to meet before Beacon anyway >_> <_< ..Since Iola hunts all the time, I don't think she would be the most approachable of people. That will change when she reaches Beacon, due to the rules of the Academy. But even so, that would mean people would only begin meeting Iola once she reaches Beacon Academy.

I think he was referring to Butter's suggestion, Wake. Oh and Stel, and Wake seeing as how both your characters are from Atlas you could do the same, if you wanted. Butter and I talked about how to start off the thread, and I think we've decided on the characters coming in on separate airships, depending on their point of origin. That would mean characters from Vale would come in on the ship with Ruby, Yang, and Jaune, characters from Atlas would come in on a ship from that kingdom (Iola and Oliviaer), characters from Mystral would come in on a ship with Pyrrha, and characters from Vacuo would come in on a ship with Midas. This isn't to say that those characters have to approach and interact with each other, just that it's a reasonable way for them to arrive at Beacon. You're welcome to make introductions to one another, talk with NPC's, or simply stare out a window and marvel at the view.

If that's the case, since I was already looking forward to Crimson knowing Midas, perhaps Crimson could be on the Vacuo ship with Midas? If that's okay.
I could say that Crimson decided to visit her parents empty graves in her village before starting at Beacon, so she'd be coming from Vacuo in that way?

To keep things running quickly, we would like to know if Kap knows what team he plans to make his character on, if so please let us know Kap, so AJ can plan which team his character will be on.
Thanks again - The boots

Would Oliviaer be on the Vale ship then? Seeing as she's already in Vale at the time.

If she is in vale at the time just before the events of our RP (which begins at the airships) then yes stel, she would be on the airship from Vale.

Profile:
Name: Lefko Ariadne Age: 18 Gender: Male Species: Human Birthplace: Atlas Counterpart: Ajax of Greece
Appearance:
Height: 6'1 Weight: 220 lbs Eye Color: Yellow Build: Muscular Hair Style: 'Ivy League' cut. Hair Color: Black Skin Color: White Distinguishing Features: Clean shaven
Attire: Similarly to his brother, Lefko wears a set of modified Atlas soldier gear. However, his under suit is the typical black mesh of the Atlas military, and his armor itself is the standard issue white. He also uses a modified version of the helmet which covers his lower face as well, and can be pushed up like an old school visor. He wears a cloak, like his brother, dyed black. It comes with a hood to pull above the helmet. The cloak is emblazoned with a white spear, pointing up. His own personal symbol.
Weapons and Abilities:
Weapon: Aequitas and Veritas
Aequitas is an Atlas military rifle, modified to be a huntsmen weapon. It has three modes of usage.
Rifle- This is Aequitas' basic form, an Atlas military rifle set for select fire bursts. The dust rounds are made for penetration on hard targets, and it is a medium range weapon.
One Handed Spear- When an enemy gets closer than he likes, Aequitas is turned into a one handed spear for jabbing, to be used in cohesion with Veritas' shield mode. To accomplish this, the barrel splits apart and then extends into a point. The military grade metal is highly effective at slicing through flesh.
Resting Mode- It folds in on itself, unable to be used as a weapon.
Veritas is a modified Atlas military pistol, modified to be a Huntsmen weapon. It has two modes.
Pistol- A select fire pistol, nothing unique or special about it.
Buckler- Veritas turns into a buckler, which Lefko uses in cohesion with Aequitas' spear mode for melee combat. It condenses in on itself, creating a tiny shield used for deflecting blows, rather than completely blocking them.
Equipment: Lefko carries his personal scroll on him, which he utilizes for coordinating with his brothers and pals, in a protective pouch on his armor. He carries a second one for more personal use such as calls to home. He has a flare gun, and carries a bedroll rolled up on his lower back, attached to his armor. He has a roll of bandage wrapping tucked into one of his other pouches. Finally, he has a deck of cards depicting various Atlesian armors and how to identify units based on the colorized trim of their armor, which he uses as a reference. Abilities: Due to his above average size and build, Lefko has above average strength. He has a sharp mind for military and combat related matters, but tends to fall behind others in 'larger' scenarios such as politics or Other Skills: Map and Compass reading, and board game playing. Aura: White Semblance: Lefko's semblance reflects his nature rather well, the ability to never fatigue or tire so long as his aura stays up. This allows him to exercise much longer than most people would be able to, or to run farther, and to fight longer. When it collapses however, much of the strain of the activity comes back to him.
Personality: Lefko is slow to speak, but when he does, he says what he means without dressing it up. His blunt manner of speaking has earned him few friends, but he rarely speaks with malice. He is just very critical when it calls for it, and has a very black and white view of the world. Those who are good are good, those who are bad need to be shot. Alongside that, he has an almost complete confidence in his viewpoint being firmly in 'the right', and holds those around him to that same standard. He's hyper-competitive, and can become completely oblivious to his surroundings while competing.
Alongside that is a great reservoir of courage, and he is always readily available to volunteer for tasks.
History:
Lefko was born alongside Mavros, his identical twin, into the Ariadne family. The Ariadne family is a prestigious military family in Atlas, with a legacy of service dating back to the Great War when it was still the Kingdom of Mantle. His father is Micah Ariadne, the patriarch of the family and a career officer in the Atlesian military. His mother is Kerria, a Huntress from Vale who Micah fell in love with while assisting her on a hunt that took place within Atlas' bounds.
From a young age, Lefko trained alongside his brother under the watchful supervision of their father, their lineage already ensuring their future career. Despite their mothers misgivings, Micah was determined for his children to become military personnel like himself, or to even go into Special Operations and serve Atlas to the best of their ability. Lefko soon developed into a competent combatant, familiar with the standard issue weapons of the Atlesian military and their maintenance. On top of this, he and his twin learned how to survive on their own, something they had to put to the test when the two young siblings were left alone in the woods for a week by their father; albeit with close monitoring (from their mother at least) to ensure they were never in any real danger. They were kept on a strict diet at all times, and had very sparse comforts at home.
Eventually, Lefko was slotted to go through a specialized military academy by their father alongside Mavros, against the wishes of their mother who wished for them to get a chance to see more of the world. They were shipped off to Prometheus Academy, and Lefko found himself flourishing in the highly regulated environment, where what was wrong and right was clearly laid out in front of him. He became even more competent in combat, and discovered his semblance while at the school, his ability to never fatigue so long as his aura didn't collapse. This semblance ended up helping him greatly, and he became known as an athletic and enthusiastic 'cadet', never tiring in his adherence to duty. He also developed a reputation for competitiveness, always seeking to out perform his fellow cadets. Yet, he also would always attempt to help those even has he attempted to beat them, trying to get them to perform even better to force him to work harder. The only one who was ever able to do this, was his brother.
When the two competed in the Atlas regional tournament in their final year, at the behest of their father after Lefko won the one the year before that, they met in the final match of the tournament. Lefko was thrashed utterly by Mavros, and was robbed of his ultimate victory in his final year. However, Lefko bears him no real grudge for this, despite his bruised pride, instead using it to drive him to work even harder, and to compete even more rigorously. He now see's his brother as not just an equal, but a bit of a friendly-rival for him to compare to.
With their graduation from Prometheus, Kerria finally put her foot down and demanded that Micah allow the boys to be sent to Beacon, to see if they wouldn't prefer to become Hunters. Knowing of Ironwoods respect for Ozpin, and beginning to soften up after seeing how well his sons had developed, Micah finally relented. After all, the two would have to be hunters anyways to join the Special Operatives unit.

Have quite a bit of information here, based on questions some of you have asked, and the surprising amount of interest we've gotten for this freeform. Let's hope we can make this work, because I know we're all excited. The first order of business is finishing up the eventual team breakdown. As you've probably seen, Ghost has selected a name for his character, and he and I are working on finishing our characters for the RP. Currently, we've yet to hear from Kap on his choice of Team, so Kap hopefully you read this and we can figure out what you're planning. In the meantime, Butter and I have also moved ahead, and we'll be starting the thread soon, so those of you with finished characters can start some writing. However, there's a few details we need to work out, though we do have some time to do so. With the important details on Ghosts' character finished, we have the letters for the Greek Heroes Motif team. As you know, a teams name needs to be something that invokes a color, using the first letter of the characters first or last name. With this in mind, now that we know Ghosts character name, we'll have to decide on just what that Team name should be. We've done a little bit of peremptory searching, but have turned up with anything perfect just yet. If I've done the math correctly, there are a total of 386 possible letter combinations across 14 groupings of the first and last name equaling four letters. Each of these four letter combinations has a total of 24 possible outcomes, and I went ahead and searched through the first 48. MICL - I didn't really find out anything that stuck out to me here, but if you want to change this into it's 24 different forms to check, feel free. MKCL - I found two possible combinations, MLCK: Milk, and KLCM: Calcium. Personally, I don't like either of those two much, but hey my character isn't on this team. Also, I saw the potential for ICKL: Icicle, though that would require Butter to change Midas' last name to an I, and that would be a last resort. MIDL MKDL MICA MIDA MKDA AICL AKCL AIDL AKDL AICA AIDA AKDA The above 12 are the other possible combinations of First and Last letters of the character names. I haven't separated those into their 24 components yet, but this is a group effort, so I encourage you all to have a look for yourselves, and see if you can't come up with something excellent. It should be noted that Butter noticed that 'MICA' is a type of stone, though said it would fit better if the characters all had precious gem names, rather then basic colors (Midas - Gold, Iola - Purple, Crimson - Red, Lefko - White.) Following on with the team basis, (and this is important for you Kap), is that I an making a twin to Ghosts character, both of whom hail from Atlas. My character's counterpart is Lyudmila Pavlichenko, so he - Mavros Ariadne - will be on the Gender Bent Warrior team, along with Stel's Black Knight. Furthermore, Butter is working on a Gender Bent Attila the Hun, which will give us three members for the Gender Bent Warrior team. Kap, if you decide to make a fourth character for the team, we'll be at a solid four person PC's for each of the teams. If that's not your thing though, don't let us discourage you. Multiple people have expressed they're willing to make a second character, so we can try and make it work, whatever you decide. The only real thing here is time. Not to rush you, but we are getting pretty excited to start.
Onward, more then one of you have expressed interest in creating more characters, pc's or npc's, villains or heroes, for use in the RP. While we haven't quite gotten that far, Butter and I have quite a few of these planned out on our own. With this being said, since we do have a limit on how many first years, teachers, antagonists, or teams we can have, we thought it would be better to forgo some of the usual secrecy in favor of cooperation for the good of the RP. To that end, we encourage you all to come up with your own NPC's, teams, etc, so long as it doesn't exceed what we would reasonably have. However, sifting through this planning thread for specific information could be pretty troublesome if it grows ten pages long, which at this rate seems possible. For this reason, Butter and I are working on a Info Hub, which some of you may have seen. The idea behind this, is to put all our necessary canon info on that thread, so we have a quick and easy reference to any information we may need down the line. As events occur in character, and more information is revealed, one of us will add to the Info Hub, making sure it stays up to date. This includes anything the rest of you come up with. Before we add those though, we'd like for you to post up information about your idea here, so we can verify it's integrity and make sure we feel it fits the world and doesn't conflict with what we already have planned. To put this simply, if you have an idea for something, put it here, and we can talk about it. If we were writing for RWBY, this would be our storyboarding room, or Fort Port, or wherever it is the Kerry and Miles sit while they're writing. Already, we've seen some excellent ideas, such as the color for steam dust, or the name of the primary combat school for Vacuo. These of course will be added to our Info Hub, one in a section for locations, the other for a section on dust. A last note about this info hub, is that we're going to include some rules for you to follow both for the IC thread, and for creating canon for our RP. Don't worry, this isn't going to be anything major that you would be doing anyway, just reminders for how Remnant works, what we're expecting out of this RP, and how we should achieve that with breaking the canon. An example of this is putting characters under different categories. For example, Team RWBY and JNPR will be under the 'Heavily Restricted' category. This is to say, that we're going to try avoiding using these characters IC, but if you have an idea to include them in the story, let's talk about it in this Story Planning and see if we agree that it's a good idea. Lightly Restricted will be for people like our canon Teachers. We definitely want to use these beyond making references to them, but since they have distinct personalities make sure you're doing your best to get the character right, and we can help you out with that as a group. These restrictions are going to be detailed on the info hub, so don't worry about having to come back to this post, we have you covered. If there was any confusion in this, feel free to point it out, and I'll be happy to explain further. We'll want to heavily use this story planning to keep the RP going smoothly, so always be sure to check here regularly, even after the relevant information you might need is put up on the Info Hub. It's currently under construction, but you can find it here.

I've got a couple of suggestions on their team names. First of all, one of the combinations you came up with was MIDA. If Midas was to become the leader, such a thing would be viable, if you take into account RWBY (or RUBY as they pronounce it) team's use of their leader's name as their title. Also using their surnames I though KADA and DAAK weren't that bad (KADA makes me think Cicada, and DAAK I can easily see as being pronounced DARK). Anyways, just chucking around ideas while I wait.

How about AKDA, for Arcadia. It gives an option for either Lefko or Midas to be the leader, and it's got Greek origins, so it matches the theme for our team. The word itself describes a place that offers peace and simplicity, and that makes me think of gentle sunlight, which is close to yellow or white, which can also match Midas or Lefko, at least in being close to the color of their names.

OOoo, I really REALLY like that. I'm liking this Greek theme. I've always loved diverse cultures. In my spare time, I love to simply draw a map of a fantasy world and then fill in the landmass with creatures, myths, cultures and diverse lores. In this case, it makes sense that Iola will be the "Blake" of the group, given the Spartan counterpart. Honestly, I'm up for anything you guys and gals whip up. I'm liking this more and more as it progresses in ideas :D Thanks Butters and Immortal for all the effort poured into this! ^_^ Also, Immortal, please don't forget Opportunity since you are, like, the Dungeon Master of that too <3
