The Graceful Eminence was a legendary ship, one of the largest class in Covenant, and Concordat history. It was a CSO-class supercarrier. Equipped with seven energy projectors, and countless other defense mechanisms. It had a thousand seraphs, and thousands of troops. It was a ship fit for battle.
Vaht 'Huskal was beginning his morning by prayer to the Forerunners. He was seeking guidance for his future, guidance for the ship, and guidance for the Sangheilios Concordat. His Forerunner prayer was sometimes laughed at, but he was proud of his prayer, and his role in society, a Zealot. The purpose of Zealots were to locate and retrieve Forerunner artifacts, and Zealot Team 14 was rather good at that. Once his prayer was finished, he navigated to the Eating Hall, and helped the cooks with the food, as it was nearly time for breakfast.
Vaht got along well with the ship's staff, as he was always helping in some way or another. People loved to talk to him, as he would just listen with genuine care, a rare trait in the twenty-seventh century, by human years. Even the human soldiers aboard seemed to have a liking for him.

Alei leaned against the wall of the Eating Hall, watching one of her fellow squad members of Zealot Team 14 helping to prepare breakfast. She silently awaited the coming food, and upon receiving it, simply picked it up and headed for the Training Area. She picked up a Plasma Rifle, taking a few shots at the target, taking bites of her meal every now and again. She eventually moved onto a Plasma Pistol, doing the same, and finally an Energy Dagger, her three weapons of choice. Everyday, training was her top priority if she was left without a mission. Finishing both her meal and her training, Alei took the plate back to the Eating Hall and decided to head back to her squad's room, hoping to find something to occupy herself with.

Vaht was serving food, and hadn't taken notice much of his teammates, but when Alei handed him her plate, he stared into her eyes for a moment, she was rather attractive. Vaht smiled, and took the plate out back, and signed off for the morning. Vaht wanted to practice on the range for the day, and headed back to his room to get his weapons. The ship was a hard place to navigate, and when he finally found Zealot Team 14's room, he was suprised to see Alei there.
"Good Morning, Zealot Alei. Did you enjoy breakfast?"
Vaht grabbed his Particle Beam Rifle, and Storm Rifle, then checked them over in the room, they were in great condition, thanks to Vaht's skill in weapon maintenance. As he went to leave, he looked at Alei, and stared into her eyes again.
"You have beautiful eyes."
Vaht thought through what he had just said, and left before he could embarass himself any further. He kept walking until he got to the range, and he began unloading rounds into the targets. After 30 minutes of practice, he decided to put his weapons back in the room.
When he reached the room, he kept his head down in shame, afraid of what Alei would say to him, and put the weapons away. Vaht contemplated apologising to Alei, and eventually found the courage to do so.
"Zealot Alei, I apologise for my previous comment, I hope it did not offend you in any way."

"Good Morning, Zealot Alei. Did you enjoy breakfast?"
"Indeed I did, thank you."
Alei replied. Before she could say anything more, Vaht grabbed some weapons and headed towards the exit. Before he left, however, he turned back around and boldly commented
"You have beautiful eyes."
Alei didn't really know what to say. No-one had ever really said something like that to her... before she could even think about saying something, Vaht disappeared into the hallway. She sprung from her bed and peered out the door, but he wasn't in site. She sat back down, having no idea what to do.
Half an hour later, Vaht returned, keeping his eyes to the floor. Alei hoped he wasn't afraid, as she wasn't the slightest bit angry. Just... confused. Vaht raised his head, looking directly at Alei.
""Zealot Alei, I apologise for my previous comment, I hope it did not offend you in any way."
"It... It is okay, Zealot Vaht, I am not offended. I'm just... surprised. No-one has ever commented on me like that before.... thank you."

Vaht stood up, and smiled his best at Alei. He wasn't a man much for love, or compassion, so this was very new to him.
"It... It is okay, Zealot Vaht, I am not offended. I'm just... surprised. No-one has ever commented on me like that before.... thank you."
"There is no need to thank me, what I said is true."
Vaht took his headpiece off, and looked at it. Zealot armor was very good.

Alei gave a quick smile to herself and politely asked
"Zealot Vaht, do we have any upcoming missions?"
With that, Alei turned to Vaht, watching him examine his helmet.

Vaht looked at his helmet for over two minutes, and looked up at Alei.
"I am unsure on our next mission."
Vaht sat on his bed longer, and then looked at Alei again.
"Is this your first assignment on a CSO? It is mine."

"Mm."
Replied Alei, nodding. She'd never even seen a ship of this size before, let alone been or worked on one. She got off her bed, standing.
"I've never even been put on a ship close to the size of a CSO."
She picked up her weapons, heading out the door.
"I need to hone my skills, Zealot Vaht. You are welcome to join me, should you want too."
With that, Alei made her way to the Training Area, hoping in the back of her mind that Vaht would follow.

Vaht was suprised that this was her first assignment on a large ship, Vaht has worked on many assault carriers. At the statement that Alei was going to practice, Vaht placed his headpiece back on, grabbed his guns, and caught up to her.
"I've worked on many Assault Carriers, but this is my first supercarrier."
Vaht began firing at a target, and then looked at Alei.
"Fine choice of weaponry."

Alei smiled to herself that Vaht had followed, replying with;
"Thank you, Zealot Vaht. The Energy Dagger is hard to spot, making it perfect for stealth missions."
Alei activated it, showing it to Vaht. She deactivated it, grabbing her Plasma Rifle, picking a target and blasting the crap out of it. She unloaded enough plasma to overheat the rifle, forcing her to put it down and pick up her pistol. She activated her Energy Dagger, shooting with one hand before going in for a stab with the other. She glanced over to Vaht.
"You're very good with a weapon, Zealot Vaht. Where did you train?"

Vaht stared absently at the target, imagining his father. 'Son, never fire for too long. It burns your hand.'.
"I started with my father at a young age, then once I completed Basic Training for Sangheili military, I was put straight into the Zealots. That was twenty years ago."

Alei nodded.
"We are somewhat alike then. I was also trained at a young age, however I spent several years in the battlefield before I became a Zealot."
Alei's mind flashed back to that day. That day she finally got somewhere as a Zealot, finally won a fight rather than being dragged along in them.
"It took me even longer to call myself one."
She told Vaht, slashing at a target with her Energy Dagger and sighing to herself.

The targets in the range were getting pelleted by plasma fire. The amount of rounds that were used at a range were extraordinary. Vaht didn't seem to care, though. Alei was the only thing on his mind.
"It took me even longer to call myself one."
Vaht walked over, and was almost hit by her energy dagger, he did however dodge it, and grab her arm, softly.
"Why?"
Vaht noticed the pose that they were in, and he released her.

Alei's eyes widened, surprised, but she didn't mind. Vaht quickly released his grip on Alei. She forced herself to get over the initial shock to blurt out a reply.
"Apologies Zealot Vaht, but I would prefer not to go into details."
Alei deactivated her Energy Dagger, picking the now cool Plasma Rifle back up. She fired off a few rounds into a target, hitting 3 of 4 shots. She placed the Plasma Rifle back down, replacing it with a Plasma Pistol instead, aiming and firing like before. She sighed, deciding to leave for the time being.
"It was a pleasure speaking to you, Zealot Vaht, but I'll be heading back to our room now."
Alei picked up her weapons, giving off a smile in Vaht's direction, and turned to leave, navigating down the hallways of the Graceful Eminence.

Vaht smiled, as well as a Sangheili could, with those mandibles, at Alei. He followed Alei back to their room, as he had nothing else to do, he could relax. He did so at a distance, and entered a few minutes after she entered, and then laid down in his bed. He thought of their purpose out in space, beyond the claimed territories. Some rumors were Forerunner artifacts.
